Abstract

In a cellular agriculture context, production of milk components using isolated lactating cells is being considered. This research investigates the potential of primary bovine mammary epithelial cells (MEC) following the in-vitro growth to be used for milk components production. To investigate this potential, as the first step, development of in-vitro model is essential. The model developed in this study showed the MEC's potential to be used for this purpose. It in addition provided valuable insight on the various aspects in need of further investigation.
