Abstract
This paper analyses shared reading as a component of scientific research due to representativeness of the term application in scientific periodicals with open access. It provides us with the opportunities to understand some patterns of the term development in scientific works. Methodology: We use both quantitative and qualitative analysis in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) for a more complete and versatile understanding of the application process of shared reading in scientific articles. Quantitative analysis includes gathering and distribution of the data depending on the field of studies, the year of the publication, and the components of the scientific apparatus of the articles. Qualitative analysis describes the content of the used studies and gives us some cases and examples of scientific search for a better understanding of the application features of shared reading as the cognitive and metacognitive factor of the increasing children and youth well-beings. Findings: The combination of quantitative and qualitative analyses reveals that shared reading is a modern tool for different scientific fields due to searching the technologies of increasing efficiency of educational, psychological, social affords towards human well-beings. Originality/value: The research findings are preliminary and require confirmation with young people in different youth work contexts. At the same time, they highlight the potential for using shared reading in the areas of education, social work, psychological support, health care and leisure to enhance young people’s well-being. © 2024, RJ4All Publications.
