Revisiting rectangular electrodes; a simulation study

Rectangular electrodes embedded flush in an insulating plane have been simulated under diffusion limited conditions. A table of reference currents for a number of electrode lengths and times is provided, as well as a table of approximate upper limits on steady state currents. The relation between the current at a square and circular electrode of the same area was examined and it was found that at longer times, the current at the square electrode is slightly larger than at the circular disk electrode.
