N2 - Megaprojects have become great symbols of modern engineering and for politicians serving as an important political legacy. They are amongst the highly debated and most controversial phenomenon which emerges in the media headlines right after they are initiated. Budget overruns, schedule delays, citizen resistance and controversial debates are amongst the common discussions that typically become widespread in the media coverage. The worldwide growth of megaprojects has given rise to an increasing number of academic publications in the past few decades however there are still lots of unknowns and avenues for further research. The aim of this rapid systematic literature review is to identify recent research on Danish mega and major project studies that are readily available to present current status and propose future directions for research and practice. A total of 17 publications on Danish mega and major projects were identified and analysed. Seven categories of research interests on mega and major project studies in a Danish context were identified and synthesized. Furthermore, implications for future research were proposed and discussed.
