Abstract
Evoking the ressources of a constructivist approach to text linguistics, I present five theses on text comprehension: (1) that text comprehension is a pragmatically-oriented process; (2) that the process of text comprehension generates text knowledge; (3) that the generation of text knowledge is determined by grammatical, world and text knowledge; (4) that the generation of text knowledge is triggered by phenomena of text recurrence; (5) that phenomena of text recurrence are assembled into text relations. On the basis of these five theses, I present a formalization of a specific text relation, coreference, as materialized by the German reflexive pronoun sich.
