The present study was part of the IntelliRAS project supported by NordForsk with the overall aim to enable farmers producing salmonids in recirculation aquaculture systems (RAS) to move from experience-based to knowledge-based decision making, i.e. precision fish farming (PFF). In this presentation we will focus on the monitoring and prediction of mortality and consider tools for management that may enable preventive changes in feeding to be done earlier and perhaps less radical. Among the methods considered are quality control charts of daily mortality counts, forecasting of CO2 and dissolved oxygen (DO; amount of oxygen accessible to the fish) on basis of time series sensor data, and the use of generalised dynamic linear models.
