Abstract
This chapter demonstrates an approach to elicit and make visible teachers’ ideas of teaching and their reflections on teaching practices. Inspired by the approach of constructing a practical argument allows for analysis of teachers’ thinking in combination with their actions in the classroom. This approach can be viewed as a vehicle for encouraging the growth of teacher development. Drawing on an eight-month study of teachers – novice and experienced teachers – in Adult Education in Denmark this novel research approach provides the opportunity to support, stimulate and nurture critical reflection by the teachers of their own practices.
