Abstract

In this paper, we report on the first pilot of a concept called Cultural Game Jams. This specific form of game jam draws on tangible (artworks) and intangible (values) cultural heritage as material for game design. The aim of the cultural game jam is to scaffold young people transitioning from consumers to creators of games, aware of cultural and societal challenges and values. The concept has so far been tested with high school students and indicate promising results for future work
