Introduction

Research output: Contribution to book/anthology/report/proceedingBook chapterResearchpeer-review

In this book we present research on how real humans in everyday lives engage with robots and virtual existences in the forms they have been developed at this point of history. This approach gives room for different kinds of imaginaries than those usually permeating the media interfaces. Mostly researchers concentrate on the perspective in and ideas about imagined future robotics. In our studies we have produced data from concrete sites where men and women, children and adults, work or play with or in other ways relate to robotic machines. We hope these contributions will provide a platform for a more realistic and informed debate on or uptake of robots.
