Abstract

The "Insects for the Green Economy Conference" held on February 28-29, 2024, at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Nairobi, Kenya, focused on the roles of insects in promoting sustainable food systems, economic growth, and environmental sustainability in Africa. The conference featured keynote presentations, panel discussions, and sessions on insect species, production systems, and applications. It highlighted the potential of insects for food security, waste management, and circular economy solutions. Key recommendations included enhancing technical research, consumer awareness, and policy support to advance insect farming and utilization for a sustainable future.
