Abstract

Infratentorial superficial siderosis is a neurological condition that results from hemosiderin deposition on the surface of the brain and spinal cord. This article considers iSS, a potentially disabling disorder usually associated with prolonged persistent, or intermittent subarachnoid bleeding from a dural defect, and characterised by progressive hearing loss and vestibular impairment, ataxia, and myelopathy. There are numerous diagnostic challenges and complex neurological impairments in iSS, but we have, in this case report, tried to present the importance of a multidisciplinary approach involving key teams.
