  • Section for Systematic Theology
The use of the idea of an "economy of the gift" (reciprocity) in cultural anthropology in the reading of the works of Martin Luther (mainly from the period 1518-1522) shows how the doctrine of justification needs an idea of a restored reciprocity between God and man to be expressed. Luther's new understanding of reciprocity is the precondition for his positive conception of the Christian and for his frequent juxtaposing of Christology and anthropology.
