Exploring Orchestration of Value Co-creation Processes in Ecosystems

Research output: Contribution to conferenceConference abstract for conferenceResearchpeer-review

Due to the exponential progress of digital transformation, companies are increasingly starting to innovate their business models. As a result, the boundaries of firms as well as industries has been gradually blurring and the process of gaining competitive advantage has been shifting from offering alternative value proposition to finding new ways of how to collaborate. Therefore, self-interested actors (including companies) form interdependent networks for the purpose of jointly creating value, i.e. ecosystems. Overall, the ecosystem research has suffered from ambiguous boundary conditions and lack of research on underlying causal mechanisms that connect the constructs identified in Bogers et al. (2019). Our paper contributes to addressing the research gap emerging from the linkage of the constructs of members and interdependence by explaining how do the interdependent actors orchestrate the value co-creation processes in ecosystems.
