Abstract
Based on the official Danish definition of alienation, this article thematises contemporary forms of alienation as they have been characterized in the history of ideas. There is a description of the experience society and its characteristics. That is, that the work and scarcity society has been replaced by an affluent society defined by a psychophysical semantics. The paper gives examples of tangible material stagings that illustrate this. As a response to how alienation effects become apparent in the dualistic sociology and subjective idealistic philosophy, process-sociological and experience-analytical models are introduced that, as theoretical and practical means of orientation, show how forms of alienation can be deciphered, analysed and verbalised. In short, how they can be understood in the figurations where they typically characterise people’s life contexts. There is an introduction to specific educational sociological colloquia (settings), in which the students themselves decide on the themes and perform analyses that show how forms of alienation are staged and conducted at Aarhus University. Finally, there is a summary containing references to how, with interdisciplinary discourses, it is possible to problematize and analyse the diversity in the manifestation of contemporary forms of alienation.
