Abstract

Evaluating prototypes of Creativity Support Tools (CST) in real-life situations present researchers with a range of challenges. I first outline a series of general issues, and then describe two approaches to studying CSTs in situ, namely controlled experiments and open-ended, longitudinal studies, based on insights from our research group’s experiences in developing CST prototypes.
