Abstract

Action-based approaches to entrepreneurship education have in theory and practice gained much attention. With the much-used overall philosophical conceptualizations about, for, and through (Hannon 2005) experience-based vs explanation-based (Austin and Hjorth 2012) and experiential learning (Kolb and Kolb 2005), the action-based approaches have been investigated and developed in relation to teaching and learning in higher education. The current entry in the Encyclopedia of Educational Innovation is an attempt to explain the various definitions and pedagogical approaches that work with entrepreneurial actions in entrepreneurship education.
