Abstract
Genomic prediction is a novel method to recognize the best animals for breeding. The aim of this PhD is to improve the accuracy of genomic prediction in dairy cattle by effeiently utilizing marker data. The thesis focuses on three aspects for improving the genomc prediction, which are: criteria of editing marker data, methods to handle missing genotypes and prediction using haplotypes constructed with an advanced method. The results of this study show that the accuracy of genomc prediction increases by: optimal criteria for marker data editing parameters, proper handling of missing genotypes using a sophisticated impultation method and using haplotype approaches
