Ubermorgen.com is a collective of digital artists focused on interventionist art that reveals and unveils the interactions between the commons and the capital in digital enterprises. One of their works, Google Will Eat Itself (GWEI) is described as:
GWEI - Google Will Eat Itself is to show-case and unveil a total monopoly of information, a weakness of the new global advertisment system and the renaissance of the “new economic bubble" - reality is, Google is currently valued more than all Swiss Banks together (sic).
This project looks at Ubermorgen ´s Digital Piece, Triology,( as mediating knowledge between the capital generating Internet enterprises such as Google, Amazon.Com and E-Bay and the commons or public. These projects analyze and use digital systems and technology to reveal the mechanisms underlying these large corporations that are affecting the global economy—calling their assumptions about intellectual property, control of information and knowledge into question. Ubermorgen’s use of art to mediate understandings of both knowledge per se and knowledge of the mechanics of Internet business for public audiences can be understood as a form of combination from Nonaka’ s knowledge conversion cycle, thus playing a part in a larger loop of socio-technical design connecting the cultural knowledge commons and the capital approach of Google as a private company.
