According to Hans Christian Andersen, to travel is to live. When crossing borders and cultures, travelers of modern times, tourists, need fast and easy access to relevant intercultural information in order to live out their travel dreams and augment their reality. They need words to guide them and help them see and know better. In this article, we will present a theoretical reflection on travel dictionaries, which by being transformed into functional lexicographic information tools should be able to provide the words making it possible to access this kind of information.
