Abstract

The authors regret, in the article “Reference intervals and stability of haptocorrin and holotranscobalamin in Danish children and elderly” by Cindy S. Knudsen, Tina Parkner, Elke Hoffmann-Lücke, Anders Abildgaard and Eva Greibe (Clin. Chim. Acta 546 (2023) 117394–117394, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cca.2023.117394), there was an error in the paediatric reference interval for holotranscobalamin (holoTC). HoloTC was measured in 400 children's samples, of which 71 samples were measured at a value above the upper limit of the measurement range (128 pmol/L). The analysis method is not linear above this limit. The reference interval is therefore not valid and the conclusion should be adjusted to: holoTC values in healthy children are generally higher than holoTC in healthy adults. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
