N2 - In this paper we will focus on a dual model ofengagement in order to globally establish digitalfabrication and making in education. We believe thatdigital fabrication and making in education will notspread and grow roots within the broad educationalsystem without changes in policy on national andinternational level. We strive to expand theunderstanding of establishing digital fabrication andmaking in education by discussing the implications of adual model of engagement through a case study. It isfurther the hope of the authors that the example willserve as inspiration to others, and may ultimately leadto better integration of digital fabrication in education ina global context.
