Abstract

This chapter deals with the demise of bipartisan politics, the rise of populist leader Nayib Bukele and the introduction of bitcoin to El Salvador. With these political developments in the background, the chapter then focuses on the environmental struggles that have taken place in the country for the last 15 years.
