Abstract

The Agrivolt project in Denmark integrates agriculture with solar photovoltaic systems to optimize land use for both energy and food production while preserving biodiversity. Funded by Innovation Fund Denmark, this initiative aims to demonstrate the economic viability and environmental benefits of AgriPV systems. The project includes a 1MWp test facility with sun-tracking panels and agricultural robots for crop management. As far as we are aware, this is one of the largest agriPV test and demonstration sites to date. Preliminary results from the 2024 harvest show promising outcomes, despite some challenges. The project continues to explore new crops and monitor biodiversity impacts.
