The DanFunD study (The Danish Study on Functional Disorders) is a large-scale epidemiological study, which is carried out at the Research Centre for Prevention and Health in Glostrup by a multidisciplinary team. The overall aim is to unravel risk factors for the development of functional disorders. The first part of the study included nearly 10,000 people, and a 5-year follow-up study is ongoing. The DanFunD survey includes data on the participants’ symptom profile, lifestyle, pain sensation, disabilities and mental health. Furthermore, paraclinical measures (e.g., pain thresholds and HRV) are collated in a subgroup. In addition, a biobank with blood, urine, faeces and DNA has been created, and data from the Danish health registries will be included.

Lise Gormsen is involved in the studies and articles that include pain thresholds and HRV measures.
