RESponsible research and innovation grounding practices in BIOSciences

Project: Research

See relations at Aarhus University

The RESBIOS project is aimed at embedding Responsible Research and Innovation and open science practices in Research Producing Organisations in four European countries within the field of Bioscience (Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, Immunology, Agriculture and Plant Science) to achieve sustainable institutional change related to the Responsible Research and Innovation keys, i.e. societal engagement, governance, education, open access, gender and ethics.

The project will establish a mutual learning environment involving four partners implementing the grounding actions (“RRI beginners”) and partners experienced in RRI in biosciences (“RRI mentors”). The grounding actions will be structured in three strands, respectively aimed at: developing a self-reflection process on the needs for change in the organisation and establishing a dialogue with key stakeholders in order to co-design the actions (a co-reflexive strand); implementing the grounding actions in cooperation with the societal actors in the territory to achieve sustainable change (a proactive strand); reframing the governance settings of the organisation and developing long-lasting spaces of integration with society (an institutional strand).

The project is funded by the Science with and for Society programme of H2020, involves 11 European countries and has a total budget of € 2, 5 million.
