Description
Participants had to listen to a periodically-modulated sound. Afterwards, they had to imagine a grouping (on the same sound) that followed binary meter (like a march, 1,2,1,2...) or ternary meter (like a waltz, 1,2,3,1,2,3...).
Key findings
Top-down metrical projections modulate neural oscillations to synchronized to the beat.
