The project aims at exploring and identifying how knowledge from inter-organizational R&D collaborations gets integrated and absorbed into the organization. The motivation for the project is based on the limited knowledge about how knowledge from organizations' external innovation activities are actually applied inside the organization. By studying the micro-level practices of organizational members participating in knowledge integrating processes, we aim at generating detailed knowledge of the more subtle aspects of knowledge integration and absorption. This could be for example secondary or unintended outputs, the role of organizational paradoxes in the process, organizational barriers to knowledge integration, or the role of social dynamics.
