Project Details

Description

Although scientific knowledge and the industry of insect production for feed and food are growing fast, it is still an industry in it’s infancy with some major knowledge gaps resulting in economic barriers that hold back the full potential. This project aims to improve the economic viability of insect farming, increase the protein self-sufficiency of the EU and reducing the need of chemical fertilizers. Thereby pushing the farming industry as a whole towards a more green, sustainable and circular future. The project is lodged within the Green-Era-Hub (EU Horizon Europe) framework and the Danish part funded through GUDP. It is a collaborative project encompassing partners from academia and industry across Belgium, Italy and Denmark.
