Gellerup Forsamlingshus is a collaborative project between Aarhus University, Aarhus Municipality and a range of stakeholders in the housing estate Gellerup to establish a youth community house (forsamlingshus) and later a folk high school. The project is funded by The Danish Agency for Culture and Palaces and the office of Vice-Dean for research and talent development at Arts, AU. The researchers in the project collaborate with project participants and professionals to investigate what citizenship, participation, culture and community might mean in this time of transformation and the COVID-10 pandemic in Gellerup. We are inspired by action research and design anthropology, and we work within modes and media that are known and desired by our partners: meetings, workshops, photography, podcast, exhibition and film.
