Description

POLFOREX is a 33 month research project studying Polish forests as a public good. The main aim of POLFOREX is to evaluate social and environmental benefits of forests in Poland to improve management efficiency. The role of NERI as a subcontractor to Econ Pöyry is to i) conduct and test benefit transfers of the recreational value of Polish forests; ii) prepare and analyse private forest owner survey on their perceptions towards recreational use of their forests and forest management for biodiversity; iii) prepare a guidance on valuation methodologies for use by the Polish forest Enterprise; and iv) in cooperation with project partners prepare a guideline for policy recommendations.
