OVERALL AIM: This project aims soften, shorten and simplify the course of hospital-admitted patients with community-acquired pneumonia.
The project will be conducted in connection to a PhD, with the following 4 studies and sub-aims planned:
SUB-AIMS: Systematic review: To assess the outcome efficacy of point-of-care ultrasound studies published within the last 10 years.
Delphi study: To build systematic expert consensus on the optimal curriculum and teaching methods in point-of-care emergency ultrasound courses.
Learning study: To improve course participants’ learning from a point-of-care emergency ultrasound course.
RCT: To find the effect of focused lung ultrasound as part of the objective examination of ED patients with suspected pneumonia, when compared to chest x-ray.
