Description
This project investigates children’s communities and parental cooperation in relation to inclusion: How do children participate in and arrange social communities in school? How do parents cooperate with each other and with teachers in relation to their children’s school life, and in what way does that influence the children’s communities in the school?. This will be analysed from the perspectives of the children and in relation to inclusion.
The recearch design follows a class from start of school and during the first 3 years of school life through participant observation focusing on the social life (conflicts and processes of inclusion/exclusion) of the children in school, participant observation at parents meetings. The children have been interviewed in small groups (in 1st and 2nd grade) and a selection of parents have been interviewed at their home. Through this the project seeks explore the development of parents’ communities around a school class This will be related to the mentioned investigations of the children’s social interplay in class.
