THE MISSION OF BERTHA IS

to assemble, link and analyse Big Data from diverse data sources to make substantive progress in the understanding of spatial life course environmental influences on cancer, cardio-respiratory diseases, diabetes, neurological diseases, allergy, mental health and wellbeing
to develop and extend algorithms and tools to spatially mine the data sources needed
to raise the capacity among health and environmental researchers to understand and benefit from the Big Data revolution by establishment of a comprehensive training program for PhD students, Post Docs and senior scientists
to establish strong national and international research collaborations and partnerships focused on the interaction between spatial life course environmental and social influences and human health.
