The project will examine whether protein digestibility changes with age in weaned piglets and whether there is a difference in protein sources and the effect of gut health. If it turns out that the protein digestibility for various reasons is significantly different for a newly weaned 6-kg pig compared to a 15-kg pig, then it will be possible to adjust the choice of feed so that gut health after weaning and growth in the climate barn will be able to improve and reduce the use of antibiotics and zink. Furthermore, the feed efficiency will be improved during the piglet period, hence reducing the feed costs.
