Project Details
Description
The goal is to develop a control algorithm for a drone of the type Cyclone manufactured by AeroQuad. By using a PlayStation 2 controller, it will be possible to control the drone wirelessly.
A number of modules are defined for this system: Drone Controller module, Drone module and Smart Phone module. Each module branches into several sub-modules. This means that the Drone Controller module includes the following modules:
-PS2 Controller Module
-RF-module
-Bluetooth module
Drone module includes the following modules:
-RF-module
-GPS-module.
A Smart Phone already has different integrated hardware modules that can be used. For the purpose of this project the Bluetooth module is used.
The development of the product involves the selection and purchase of hardware components, further development of the drone, design and implementation of the above mentioned modules and two ways communication between the Drone module and Drone Controller module.
The user of the system can make the drone Take off, land, rotate it to the sides, fly up and down, keep it steady in the air and make it fly forward and backward.
For safety reasons, it can also be stopped at any time and if damage to the propellers occurs will also stop the drone automatically. The user of the system can also follow the location of the drone by a Smart Phone.
