Thera Silver Medal

Dr. Walter L. Friedrich, Department of Geoscience, Aarhus University, was honored with Thera silver medal as thank you for his scientific work with Santorini volcano. The ceremony of the medal took place on 24 February 2018 on the Greek volcanic island of Santorini and was made by Mayor Nikolaos Zorzos at the semi-annual meeting of the ISMOSAV group (Prof. Papazachos, Prof. Fytikas, Prof. Pavlides, Prof. Panajotopoulos). The group, which monitors the activities of the Volcano, informed the meeting of the island inhabitants of the current state of Santorini volcano.
