Title: Beet (Beta vulgaris) seed quality assessment and phenological development advancement
Description:

With the aim to advance phenological development in the entire growing cycle, from germination to flowering, beet seeds were assessed and enhanced in this project. Since different factors can affect plant performance, from seed to fully developed plant, various procedures were applied to deal with these influential factors. Approaches, which consider the seed quality assessment and enhancement were considered as the project plan. Since seed quality is the key element of success in agriculture, multispectral imaging potential in non-destructive and fast quality investigation was evaluated as the first step. Following the quality identification, the possibility of seed enhancement optimization due to the assessed quality was dealt with. The effect of seed priming as an enhancement technique was evaluated on the entire plant life cycle, from germination to flowering stage. The aim of this part of study was to evaluate the probable priming effects on the seed germination and subsequent developmental stages. Depending on the harvesting product (root or seed), the treatment efficiency had been evaluated on the vegetative and/or reproductive development of consequent plant from the primed seed.
