Personal profile

Research

My research explores using in vitro cultured bovine mammary epithelial cells to produce milk constituents as novel and sustainable food ingredients. This work consists of several research projects in which my colleagues, collaborators, and I investigate key factors in cellular milk production, including cell sources, culture medium, sustainable medium alternatives, extracellular matrix for 3D cell culture, and scalable cell culture systems. By advancing these areas, I hope to deepen my understanding of lactogenesis and develop innovative milk production methods.

Teaching

I enjoy and am passionate about sharing my knowledge with students and helping them connect theory with real-world biological processes. I teach parts of the Cell Biology course for animal science and veterinary students at the bachelor's level, and lecture in the master's course Future Animal-Based Food. Additionally, I co-supervise master's and PhD students in the fields of cell biology and agriculture.
