I am Xavier Baami González, BSc in Chemistry at Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB, Bellaterra, Spain) and MSc in Material Science and Engineering at Institut Químic de Sarrià (IQS) School of Engineering, part of Universitat Ramon Llull (URL, Barcelona, Spain).
Throughout my four-year BSc, I was fascinated by Chemistry and other fields in Science, especially by their importance in making people's lives easier and healthier. I collaborated for 9 months on a project designing new Pt (II) Complexes for Upconversion Nanoparticles in Pt (II) delivering aiming for new Cancer phototherapies. Alongside that, I graduated obtaining honors in several subjects that included: Spectroscopy and Structural Determination.
While I was enrolled in IQS for my MSc, I improved my knowledge in the field of Material Science obtaining honor grades in all the theoretical and practical subjects, including my MSc thesis. The project was focused on designing novel photocatalyst material to concentrate and destroy Micropollutants from wastewater and was developed in collaboration with The Department of Biological and Chemical Engineering at Aarhus University.
