Profile

An associate professor at AU's department of mathematics and recently also a biostatistician at the department of clinical epidemiology, my research includes

development of statistical methods and modelling of data that are spatial patterns; in particular, modelling of microstructures in biological tissue or materials, and stereological analysis of microscopical images,
non parametric and computational statistics, analysis of register data for epidemiological inference.

My latest project is a collaboration with biomechanics engineer, Jens Vinge Nygaard. We want to find out how cells react to the geometry of foam biomaterial that they grow in: www.mechanogeometry.au.dk
