Teaching experience:

I have taught since 1987 mainly at post-graduate level but also at under-graduate level (I have also taught introductory courses in political science concepts and theories and twice under-graduate courses in IR theory).

My teaching has been mainly in Danish but I have considerable experience with teaching in English, having taught i.a. under-graduate courses in the institutions and policies of the EU, the EU-policies of France, Germany and the UK and US-European relations.

In terms of substance my teaching has mainly focused on European integration and European affairs, the emphasis being upon theoretical, political and institutional issues. However, I have also taught seminars on economic and social issues relating to the EU. I have endeavoured to acquire a solid teaching experience in a broad range of EU-related issues.

In addition, I have twice taught post-graduate seminars on strictly comparative politics themes: One seminar on the role of intellectuals in politics seen from both a philosophical and sociological angle. Another on the relationship between the university and society both philosophically, sociologically and historically.

In general, as reflected in my teaching I take a keen interest in inter-disciplinarian issues, in part as an off-spin of the multi-disciplinarian nature of contemporary EU-studies.

Participation in public debate:

I have throughout the years been an active participant in the public debate in Denmark and to some extent also abroad. I have thus had a considerable number of articles published in Danish newspapers.
