My research focuses on global health and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) research, including Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, mental health and NCDs in disaster settings.

Profile

I am Postdoctoral Researcher at Department of Public Health, Aarhus University, & Scientific Coordinator for the Big Data Center for Environment and Health. With over a decade of experiences in public health, I focus on evidence-based practices and policymaking, research on NCDs, & advocacy for good global health governance. I hold a PhD from Aarhus University, MSc from the University of Southern Denmark, & a Bachelor's from the IoM, Nepal. I also lead the NCD Watch Nepal & Healthy Lungs Nepal.

Commissioned

As a consultant with the Noncommunicable Disease Unit at the World Health Organization Headquarters, I contribute to the Chronic Respiratory Disease section, assisting in the development of  programs to enhance the prevention and management of asthma and COPD.

Teaching

I teach and supervise in the subjects related to global health and public health, coordinating the global health pillar within the Public Health for Medicine course. My teaching covers global health governance, climate change and health, NCDs, health promotion, and innovative health technologies. I supervise bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD students, emphasizing interactive learning, research mentorship, and strengthening global health research capacity.

Job responsibilities

As a Postdoctoral Researcher, I research in topics of global health & chronic diseases like COPD, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes & mental health, focusing on NCDs in disaster settings ageis of the Research Unit for Global Health. I coordinate research, mentor students, write grants, handle communication and branding of the research unit, lecture, & supervise theses. Also, I oversee scientific activities as Scientific Coordinator for the Danish Big Data Center for Environment and Health.
