Research output: Contribution to journal/Conference contribution in journal/Contribution to newspaperJournal articleResearchpeer-review

The aim was to investigate attitudes, perceptions, and knowledge among hospital staff concerning nutritional management upon discharge. A questionnaire was distributed to 72 hospital staff members at a medical ward in a hospital in Denmark. The overall response rate was 78%. Almost 95% agreed that patients should be weighed at discharge, while 5% reported this was done routinely. Forty-five percent of the staff members reported refraining from initiating nutritional therapy at discharge. Less than half of the staff (45%) initiated nutritional follow-up to assure the patients' transition from hospital to community care. There was incongruence between attitudes, perceptions, and knowledge among hospital staff.
