Personal profile

Profile

As an associate professor in quantitative neuroscience at the Centre for Functionally Integrative Neuroscience, my work focuses on neurodegenerative diseases, particularly amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and Alzheimer's disease. I am a veterinarian by training and hold a PhD in in vivo pharmacology from University of Copenhagen.

Job responsibilities

Collaborative interdisciplinary work on bioimage analysis and mitochondria structure and function are key areas of interest. Applied techniques include stereology, (immuno)histochemistry, multi-electrode arrays on acute brain slices, Seahorse assays on tissue punches, and in vivo experiments in rodent models. Expertise extends to light microscopy, transmission- and volume electron microscopy. Teaching and supervision of students are an important part of my work, and it is a privilege to contribute to their academic development and see them become independent.
