Steffen Petersen received a M.Sc. degree (2005) and a Ph.D. degree (2011) from the Technical University of Denmark. His Ph.D. projects entitled “Simulation-based support for integrated design of new low-energy office buildings” was honored with P.O. Fanger’s Research Grant. He is also a consultant engineer involved in several low-energy building projects from the conceptual design phase to post occupancy evaluation.
The aim of Steffens research is to create new knowledge in terms of processes and technologies for buildings with low energy use and high quality of the indoor environment. Focus is on the development of low-energy building components and whole buildings through a) Development and application of methods for computational characterization of building components and whole buildings with the aim to optimise performance, generate design support and enable optimal building operation, and b) Experimental tests in laboratory and field.
