My research mainly concerns contemporary Danish and Scandinavian literature. I am particularly interested in how new literature and literary theory changes in a time of new media. This has, among other things, lead me to an interest in self-fashioning literature (autobiograpichal novels and poems, autofiction), but also to an interest in the teaching of literature, e.g. why read literature?

Scandinavian Authors such as Inger Christensen, Per Højholt, Claus Beck-Nielsen (1963-2001), Dag Solstad, Vigdis Hjorth, Sara Stridsberg, Matias Faldbakken, Jonas Hassen Khemiri, Karl Ove Knausgård, Tomas Espedal. Among the older Scandinavian literature, especially writers like Johannes Ewald, St. St. Blicher, J.P. Jacobsen, Knut Hamsun, Herman Bang and Henrik Pontoppidan.

Non-Scandinavian authors: Stéphane Mallarmé, Joseph Conrad, Franz Kafka, Bret Easton Ellis, Michel Houellebecq, Roman Jakobsen, Jacques Derrida, Gilles Deleuze, Giorgio Agamben, Philip Roth, Ben Lerner.

More general areas: modern literary theory, contemporary Scandinavian literature, autobiographical literature, autofiction, the interaction between literature and new media, teaching of literature, narratology.
