Profile and research area

I am concentrating on translational basic science, investigating immune regulatory mechanisms and autoantibodies in autoimmune diseases. My focus is on understanding how autoantibodies and immune regulatory pathways contribute to inflammation and long-term tissue changes, particularly in the skin and lungs, where fibrotic alterations occur.

Additionally, I am interested in exploring biomarkers and the potential of personalized medicine.

My research group explores immune regulatory pathways and autoantibodies through in vitro experiments and animal models. We work with patient samples and prioritize close collaboration with Aarhus University Hospital to ensure a translational perspective in our research.

Degree programmes

I am a member of the pharmacology teaching team, where I teach medical, molecular medicine, and dental students. In the lab, I supervise both bachelor’s and master’s students. My goal is to offer teaching and supervision that equips students with a solid foundation for making informed decisions in their future career. Additionally, I have contributed to the development of teaching materials for both clinical and academic courses.

Collaborations

I highly value both international and local collaborations, believing that sharing ideas and working together is key to advancing science. I have established international partnerships with collaborators at Harvard Medical School, Cambridge University, and University College London.
