Personal profile

Research

I study how vaccines affect overall health using data from registers and electronic databases. My research focuses on vaccine safety and their broader effects, but I also look into infectious diseases and who gets vaccinated. My goal is to improve understanding of the impact of vaccines on health and why people choose to get vaccinated. This research can help those offered vaccines, doctors, and decision-makers make better choices about vaccinations.

Profile

I study vaccines using data from registries. Most studies are done in collaboration with international partners. I have a master’s degree in public health and a PhD from the University of Copenhagen.

Cooperation and dissemination

I am currently co-leading a safety study on the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine in four European countries. I coordinated a NordForsk-funded project on the health effects of childhood vaccines in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. I was a board member of the Danish Society for Pharmacoepidemiology from 2020 to 2024.

Teaching

I lead a PhD course on “Registries, databases and other electronic data sources in clinical research” at the Graduate School of Health. I also teach epidemiology at different levels, focusing on practical skills through activity-based learning. Additionally, I supervise students.

Job responsibilities

My primary area of responsibility is conducting epidemiological register-based studies primarily in collaboration with international research teams. I also teach epidemiology courses and supervise students
