Personal profile

Research

My research primarily focuses on imaging biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. I am developing and applying image analysis techniques for measuring both  neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative processes using MRI. My aim is to identify and optimize imaging biomarkers and apply them in a clinical setting.

Cooperation and dissemination

The interdisciplinary nature of my research necessitates collaborating with clinical researchers, basic researchers and more application-oriented researchers both nationally and internationally. In particular, the collaboration with nuclear medicine and PET as well as neurology has contributed to several ground-breaking research results.

Teaching

Lecturer in medical image analysis on the Master's program in biomedical technology. Lecturer on various PhD courses as well as AU Summer University in integrative neuroimaging. Involved in the Sino-Danish Center for Education and Research. Supervises post docs, PhD, MSc, and BSc students, and occasionally assesses PhD theses. Mentors both engineering students and medical students.
