What is the future of global climate governance? Who says so, and who benefits?
My research explores the politics of science in environmental and technology governance, drawing insights from global environmental governance, governmentality studies, science and technology studies, deliberative engagement, and foresight practice. I focus on how knowledge on potentially game-changing but immature strategies for addressing climate change - lately, carbon removal and solar geoengineering - are constructed through different practices of expert and participatory assessment.
I am more generally interested in the reform of global change assessment, grappling with plural but converging trends: from siloing to collaboration of disciplines, from technocratic sciences to plural societal collaborations, for greater horizontal integration across issues, regimes, and sectors, and vertical integration across scales and levels.
